Your Privacy is Our Priority

My Water Reminder is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our Android app.

Information We DON'T Collect

✅ We do NOT collect any personal data

My Water Reminder does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. All your data stays on your device.

No user accounts or registration required
No tracking or analytics by us
No data sharing with third parties (except ad networks for free users)
No cloud storage or external servers

Data Stored Locally

All data is stored locally on your device using Android's on-device storage (a Room database and DataStore). It is never uploaded to us or synced to a cloud account:

Water intake logs: Amount, time, and date of water consumption
Personal settings: Daily goal, weight, preferred units
Reminder preferences: Notification schedule and frequency
Statistics: Streaks and historical data for charts

Data Retention

Because all of your data stays on your device and is never sent to us, we do not hold any copy of it on our servers. Your data is retained locally on your device for as long as the app is installed — it remains available to you until you choose to delete it (see below) or uninstall the app.

How to Delete Your Data

You are always in full control of your data and can delete it at any time:

Delete individual entries: On the Log tab, swipe a water entry to delete it.
Delete all of your data at once: Uninstall the app — this permanently removes all locally stored data from your device. You can also go to Settings → Apps → My Water Reminder → Storage → Clear storage to erase all app data without uninstalling.

Since we do not store your data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete on our end — deleting it on your device removes it completely.

Health Connect Integration

If you choose to enable Health Connect integration (a premium feature):

We request permission to write your water intake to Health Connect, and to read workout/exercise sessions to help time hydration reminders
Health Connect data is stored by Android in its own secure store, separately from this app
You can revoke access at any time in the Health Connect app or your Android privacy settings
Any water data written to Health Connect can be deleted from within the Health Connect app
We never access other health data categories

Notifications

The app uses local notifications to remind you to drink water. These are scheduled on your device and do not involve any external servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Premium features are available through optional auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly and annual) or a one-time Lifetime purchase. All transactions are handled entirely by Google Play — we never receive or have access to your payment information.

Advertising (Free Version)

The free version of My Water Reminder displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob.

What Google may collect:

Device identifiers for ad personalization
General location (country/region level)
App usage data for ad relevance

You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings:
Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization (or reset your advertising ID)

Premium users do not see any advertisements.

My Water Reminder is safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
